Several options for the rust in the tank. Buy some liquid liner stuff called RED-KOTE or BLU-KOTE. Both are available from tractor and equipment stores and work fine for a while according to others, never used them myself. Or take a handful of small steel balls (BB size), put them in the tank, seal it and start shaking & shaking & shaking and shake some more. Give to kids to shake. Pour out ALL the steel balls, which is harder than it sounds. Looks like new inside.

PLEASE HELP!  Can I combine a '75 CB750 and a '77 CB750?

Haven't been here in awhile.....

Ran into a problem....no title for my '75 (about 85% complete)  So I bought a '77 with a title.  Besides the obvious differences - headlight, side lights, tank, seat and indicators.  Are there problems that I will have if I want to put all my things from the '75 onto the '77 frame.  Or can I just take the serial plate off the frame of the '77 and put it on the '75?

suggestions PLEASE! Oh and btw. If you have paypal and need anything from a CB750 '77 let my know!  It is complete (the engine case cracked when the chain jumped and hit it) it was running this summer...

You can put the 75 engine into the 77, but you will also need to change the cush drive on the rear wheel to the one from the 75, or get an off set sprocket from Cycle-X. The tank, seat.. will not interchange. You could swap the VIN plate, but that is a Federal offense, and you could get a 5+ year vacation on the Federal Govt.
Why not just take some JB Weld, and sheet metal, and fix the hole in the case of the 77? I know of a few of them still running around like that.
