977 CB750F Fork w/ Dual Disc Brakes and Cylinder Head
« Reply #1 on: Today at 06:45:47 pm »QuoteUp for sale is a complete fork/triple tree setup and a cylinder head from a 1977 CB750F.

Forks: It includes both caliper mounts and brake calipers for the dual disc brake setup.  The second caliper is not pictured but is included.  It also includes a modified front fender to go with the fork.  Also if purchased for the asking price I will include an All Balls Racing tapered neck bearing set to aid installing this setup! The forks don't leak oil, still had spring life in them(albeit maybe a bit soft) and have one small cut in one of the dust boots.  No major scratches or rust on the fork tubes themselves

    Sorry BUD

Just been looking around  and seen what some might wont ,
 like you , I would.

I'm not wonting to cut my front tubes , I think that if I droped the back with 11inch springs ,I should be able to put the front back to were it' should be.(stock location).had Paul push the rear down while I sat on it and was perfect (lil bend to the knee's)but the stock rear springs were closed completely, The piston in my shocks work fine can I just put smaller spring on like you would a car ?

I wonder if you shorten the spring if you will be riding close to bottoming out?Especially if you are loaded with luggage.Any way to move your mounts to lower your springs?I suppose you are trying to prevent buying shorter ones? Can't blame ya fer that.

I just wont to replace the spring keeping the same piston n rod Assembly, having to take the shock apart to see how far down the rod goes into the cylinder to see how short I can go,they make rubber stoppers ,like used in Low=Rider cars seen and save that sight but can't find the sight for springs only while back seen it to customize your own with length and color or diff.platings

I will not be caring a passenger or loads till late spring, trailer will be just Lil on the frame.

I don't know about installing shorter springs, but, you can lower it by using 11 inch shocks, or lowering blocks (vintage rider on SOHC4 forum has a set) . Both are cheap, and safe. Also, you could install a swing are off a DOHC bike, That would lower the bike a good 2 inches, and look good to.

They are plenty strong. The DOHC engines are more powerful. The 79 is a direct bolt on. The 80 up requires some modification. You need to drive the bearings in a 1/4 inch on each side, and trim about a 1/4 inch off each side of the swing arm where it mounts to the frame. Also, you need to drill out the holes in the fram to 5/8 inch. Took me about a half hour to make one fit.
