1978 CB 750K Dumping Fuel!

HS_Strong
Ok, so my bike has been sitting for a couple years, went to get it running again, and naturally wouldn't start.  So I drained the fuel, and bought a new battery.  Next thing I was able to get was choke out full throttle it would start, rev up, and then peter out and die.  So I figured the carbs needed a cood cleaning, took them out cleaned them, blew them out.  Re installed, fired her up, she ran sickly for a few seconds, then died.  Tried a bunch more times, couldn't get it to start.  So now I figured I flooded it.  When to loosen the drain bolt on the 2nd carb from the left, and all hell broke loose!  I have gas pouring out everywhere!  What did I do?  I'm beyond my comfort level any help is appreciated.  Thanks......

Well the drain screw does just that, it drains. You should see the rubber lines running from the bottom of each carb. These are simple drain hoses. Just close the screw back up and you should be fine.

If not, turn off the petcock to prevent any more draining out and then take the carbs off and check that bowl as some debris from the tank probably got in there.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
