1979 Honda CB750F Bobber build

Hello everyone! This is my first post and decided to join you guys here because of my recent purchase of as the subject says 79 cb750f that I want to make into a bobber. I will post pictures here and explain things that I am doing however it is going to be a bit slow because of $ this build will take me months to finally complete. Currently I bought new handlebars brake kits to redo the brakes and maintenance stuff. What I want to get next is a master cylinder because this one is dry rotten and a new clutch cable. Also want to lower this thing somehow without making it a hardtail and give it the bobber look. Also want to relocate the battery and chop the rear section to make room for a single seat. I would like to make this a mono shock system but not sure how hard or expensive that would be any ideas?

Ok so here are some pictures of the frame I took the tank and seat off. The tank is rusty inside but i do like it so I bought a Tank cleaning and sealing kit from eastwood.com and will be doing that in the next couple of days. Also I got new spark plugs, universal inline fuel filter and choke cable i need to install. The bike seems to run great at higher rpms but sometimes struggles to idle i think i might need to clean my carbs and rebuild them while they are out? Is it feasible for me to clean the carbs myself never have done it before or is this something you guys truly recommend a professional do. Im patient I just not bike savvy yet.   I did check out the leaf spring suspension bike thats a cool idea i think i may do that. Also I do want to put pod filters on this but have read that it is not recommended without buying different carbs. is that true? if so what carbs could i get to use pod filters.

Well check this out, now it is for teh sohc cb750 but I am sure you could probably apply it to your dohc. Konging allows you to lower the seat and make it a single while keeping the swingarm and normal shock travel.
You could also leave the rear suspension alone, remove most if not all the rear fender and put on a springer seat.
there are a number of ideas, maybe google some bobbers and post what you like and we could give you ideas how to get there.

If you want to make a bobber, you need to get a hardtail for that... Yamaha xs's make better bobbers IMHO,, that bike you got there is nice... ride it like that..

Thanks for the idea re-run, konging the frame looks simple enough yet effective in totally changing the look, think I might go for that look...

So far I repainted the bike. Cleaned the tank and sealed it, replaced the plugs put iridiums in also changed the caps and wires to a high performance set. Ordered new shocks but haven't come in yet. Got new handle bars choke and clutch cables, new master cylinder reservoir. for now i think that is it until i chop the back off and change the tail light and signals. Ill update as I upgrade.

That's a nice clean look. I like it.  Then again, I'm a sucker for clean sleek designs.
