Polymer-2
Ok on the 1980 CB750F rear inner fender was it originally finished with gloss paint or was it just a dull cast plastic (natural)?

Hi dylansdad. I have a feelng that we have been in touch on this forum quite some time ago. As I`m in Australia if its any consolation the inner rear part of the  whole mud guard ( which you refer to as a fender ) is made of plastic. The outer rear part where the tail light housing is and the number plate bolts on, is Chrome plated. The reason its plastic is so thats its flexible enough with out breaking to remove the battery box and the airbox when removing the four carbs as one unit. Its a very tight squeeze and I reckon when they designed this model Honda they never took into considerartion that we Westerners have bigger hands then the Japanese. Its a bugger of a job getting the carbs off when you have big hands

yes we have been in touch in the past. how have you been?

now on subject. i think POLYMER was refering to the F series, which do not have any chrome fenders. now the euro version i cannot speak for as i have never seen a Stock  F series, but i do not think they have any chrome fenders as well. the inner black molded plastic piece in the repair and parts manuals is refered to the inner fender which is what i called it. although it is in fact a mud guard. the bike i think you are refering to is the C series. they do have chrome fenders but look completely different then the F series bikes. the k i believe is a plastic  fender as well that is not chrome i could be wrong about that one though as i have not owned one of those bikes. i know they are similar but diffent.

I am very well indeed - been along time since I saw you post anything on the forum. All of the earlier folks on the forum when it started had problems related to the 1979 -1983 F and K series and they have all disappeared. Lots of new faces with much older bikes coming on the forum now, and I dont have much knowledge of these early Honda 750s, hence the reason I haven`t answered any questions in relation to these older bikes.  Looking forward to the winter weather down under. The C series never came to Australian shores, only the F and K models and all of the F and K models have the plastic mudgaurd. POLYMER was referring to the F series , and they dont have chrome fenders/mudgaurds . Hope that clarifies the situation. My CB750K restoration has been put on hold due to the economic world crisis and the fact the Australian Dollar has taken such a hammering that its not worth buying anything form the US due to the exchange rate factor. Once the world ecomomies pick up and out Dollar gets stronger then I`ll start buying up the parts I need. All the best and hope to see you on the forum at some stage or another.
