1980 Honda 750 Custom (4-4 Muffler)

rickbiggar
7 years ago I bought the last available OEM left side ( 2 into 2) muffler assembly for my 1980 Honda 750 custom restoration project.  I'm now looking for the right hand side mufflers/pipes.  Any suggestions?  I don't mind buying a good used set if it's possible to be rechromed.  I'm also willing to pay up to $1000 for just the left side assembly.  Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated guys.

I have a set of 4-4's off my "80 F. I don't know if they are the same as the C models or not.

The ones I have are pretty dang nice, but there is some denting where they head pipes turn at the very front of the bike and start under the engine. Ran over a piece of firewood one day and it got damaged. :( It's hardly noticeable and I'm positive the inner tubing was not damaged, so flow is not restricted any. Other than that there is no rust or damage at all on the pipes. They used to be perfect until that happened.

I can upload pics if you're interested. I'd take $250+ shipping for the entire system:head pipes, mufflers, exhaust collars and all the heat shields.  They're at zip 24122.

Hey,

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Was away at work.  Anyways yes, could you send me some pictures.  The problem with these particular mufflers is the moisture which is generated from the exhaust has a tendency to rust the pipes from the inside out a few inches into the muffler side (bottom) after it comes from the header section.  Thanks again, looking forward to the pic's.  Talk to you soon.

Rick

rickbiggar, sorry I haven't gotten pictures up yet. Here is a link to the the bike with those pipes still on it so you can get some sort of an idea what they look like, but I will get some closeups soon.

Hey,

Thanks for getting back to me.  The pic's that you sent are a 4-2 configuration (I think).  The muffler system I'm after is 4 exhaust pipes coming from the engine which terminate into 4 (separate) mufflers, two mufflers on one side of the bike and two mufflers on the other.  4 mufflers in total.  The 1980's came "stock" like this and I'm trying to retain the originality of the bike.  Let me know.

Rick
