1980 cb750 rear light, turn signals wiring issue

bobth
Where to start...

I'm having electrical problems as in lights, turn signals, brake lights..

1980 cb750c. Bought it in good shape, starts, runs. The guy I bought it from had decided to redo the stock rear light, turn signals in favor of cafe-style lights but hadn't finished wiring them up just made some changes I can't figure out.

Headlight shell was apart so might have messed with that as well. When I got it in the rear lights were off, the harness / electrical plugs seemed intact and only trace of his work (besides lights not working) was an extra green wire soldered off one of the 2 brown wires at the back that lead to the tail light.

I plugged the old taillight, turn signal housing back in and the two lights in the taillight housing work. Brake light does not flash when brake is applied. Steady lights both bulbs.

Turn signals: front ones...left works but on steady. Right one off. When I flip the turn signal switch the left will stay on when left or in the middle. Goes off when turned to right. But right one does not go on.

Rear ones: neither is on and neither go on when switch is turned in either direction. However if I touch the extra wire that I mentioned that is soldered to one of the brown ones leading to the tail lights to either of the turn signal wires (black with orange or light blue band) the light will light.

From the schematic I have all the wires correctly attached to the correct connectors. I cleaned all of the connectors and battery is charged. Fuses all good.

Front headlight works fine, reg and hi-beam.

I don't know where to start with this...again, all the wires seem plugged into the right connectors and no breaks and grounds seem ok.

Suggestions on where to go with this? I've looked around but not much experience with electrical issues.

Thanks

You may have done this ,But check the power leaving the switch(there at the plug) were it plugs into the harness coming from the bike frame(most all wires)as you said blu. N org. like my F2 there is 2 pig tail coming off 1 of those plugs with 1 blu.N 1 org. wire's ,Check for power there after the main plug is connected inside each end of those pigtail connectors theres a double bullet female inside that cover !!!
THIS IS were I found A bad connection ,rather way to loose( kept falling out) but couldn't tell. Solder A new one on,I use electrical greese in all my plugs and bulb contacts, stuff was made for these ole bikes nobody uses now cause plugs are made different(better).Grn. is ground thru-out my bike even at rear.
Next is if you have A Tac N dwel, to check for break in wire's inside wireing hrness..
