I have dreamed of having a cafe racer style bike for years, and after seeing Nico Mueller's build, I knew I could not wait any longer...so I finally (last week) bought a bike that fit the bill.
What I want to accomplish:I will be running pods despite endless advice to keep the stock air cleaner.
Also, relocating the battery and electrical to clear up the "Bermuda triangle" in front of the rear wheel.
Cover the tank and mold the rear tail with carbon fiber.
Black out the frame/engine
What I have done:I got the bike RUNNING STRONG ON PODS!! (did this by rejetting the carburetors to 120/88)
Used CLR to clean the inside of the tank.(I will coat with Red Kote or equivalent in the next couple days).
Chopped the tail of the frame off and braced it.
I hope to keep the progress going, and I will keep a tread going the process! The pictures below are from the listing on CL. I will upload more as I go! Thanks for reading and feel free to respond with any comments!
