1982 cb900c front fork

Flying v
Good afternoon. This is my first interaction on this forum, and I want to thank all in advance for any help or advice.
I have recently acquired a 1982 cb900c via trade. It was garage kept and has taken just a little carburetor work, fluid and tire changes to get it ready. I am on the last step, which is changing front fork oil and dust seals. Upon disassembly, I noticed my backup ring below the circlip was corroded and I do not want to reuse it. After searching tirelessly, I found that this part has been discontinued and is not available for my particular model (checked Honda shop, partzilla, etc). I did find and order backup plates for a cb900f if same year on partzilla, however, and I’m wondering if these will fit. Fork assembly and size appears the same. Any help is appreciated

Welcome. The ring is just a washer to keep the bushing in place. You could just clean yours up and reuse it. You could paint it to keep it from corroding again. If you look at the part on Partzilla they have a "related fitment" where they show all the years/models that used that part.

Thank you for your reply. One of the bushings was badly corroded and I did not want to reuse it, but I feel confident, after looking at the fitment chart, that the ones I ordered will fit properly.
Thanks again,
Andrew
