72 cb750 carb screws

Jonny Imperial
I am rebuilding my carbs, and came upon an issue. One of the two screws inside the slide is pretty messed up. I may have to drill the head off, which is no big deal.
The problem is....I can't find anywhere that says what size these screws are.
Does anyone know? Does anyone know where I could find replacements?

How about size? I am sure they are metric. Last time I went to my local Ace for something metric you might have thought I was speaking in Swahili by the response I got.

Any hardware store should have them. I always use my impact driver on them. Does not take much force, so be careful if, you do use one.

I'll try that, seems like it will be tough getting in there with the rod in the way. I think I found a size though. 3x10 pan head.
Thanks

Re: 72 cb750 carb screws

I ran into this on the 1st 2 carbs last night. While tearing down 3 & 4, I found they are all messed up and won't budge, even with an impact driver. They are visibly crusty. Luckily in the one that did come apart I found that my needle is in the correct position. I tore into them because I was running a bit lean, and knew the carbs were gummed up. It sat for about 5 years before I picked it up this spring.
So, in the interest of getting the most out of my Minnesota summer, I stripped and soaked the bodies, installed new jets, cleaned everything up, and the screws will be winters problem.
Thanks for the help.
