Oh my, get me going on 'oldWings...
The attaction to the first year '75s for most is just that, it was the first years of Honda's long running ultimate touring bike. A trend setting design that can trace it's linage clear to today. Like buying a 64 1/2 Mustang.
Now there is a lesser known fact that the first year GL's (maybe 76's too) were more performance oriented than their following years. Hotter cams and different carb specs made these original versions screamers.
For some reason Honda DE-tuned them later on, unlike most models gain performance as the next year comes out.
Me, I just want a GL1000 to go with my GL1100. I did "babysit" a 75 in my shop for a while, in between guys in a multi-state sale of serial #0068, the 68 GoldWing to ever roll off the assembly line. Compared to other bikes, it is truely a unique design. You do know that piece between the handlebars and the seat is NOT the gas tank, right?
