750fb 1983 clutch spring bolt torque

jum1210
Hi Everyone,

I have recently stripped, cleaned and reassembled the clutch on my cafe project (as it was sticking), but whilst putting it back together couldn't find the right torque settings for the 6 clutch spring bolts. Does anyone know what they are/have a list of torque settings/know where to get hold of specific torque values???

Thanks!

They are 6mm X 1 bolts, and the torque specs for this size bolt is 7 ft lbs. However I just use a 1/4 drive ratchet with a 10mm socket to tighten them up. Never worried about setting the torque on them. Nothing there to really distort like on a head, or crankcase.

Thanks again Tools!

I was under the impression the 6 spring bolts had to be at a specific torque to a)stop the clutch slipping/sticking and b) to get even wear on the plates. I have seen other people talk about specific clutch spring pressures/torques for different bikes. Is this not the case?

Thanks!

On some other brands of bikes yes, but not on Hondas.
