I found a '78 750, 15 yrs in barn, mice living on and in it, including inside the airbox and the throats of the carbs. Carbs have pressed in brass venturis that are closed up with green and white mineral deposits. Carb cleaner won't touch it. It looks to me like the vertical brass venturis clogged with corrosion is a gas circuit for when the choke is on. Anyhow, I scored a set of Carbs for a Hondamatic from around the same year, (carbs looked similar in picture) but there seems to be a lot of vaccum hoses and stuff hanging off the Automatic carbs (from what I can see in the picture). Anyhow, anyone know if there will be a problem swapping out carbs? I can just use the bodies of the purchased carbs with (HOPEFULLY) non-corroded brass venturis and rebuild my own carbs.
The A carbs are actually smaller so you might see a performance drop. The rubber manifolds are also different I think and so you will most likely need to use the A rubbers.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
