Help please, was throwing in the Sylvanias everyone uses then upgraded to a much brighter one for Jeep use. These things are lasting 5-750 miles.
What can I do?

I am not the electrical guru here, but I have some ideas. The new ligh might be drawing more amps then the wiring can supply, and this could be burning them out. However I would think it would blow the fuse before burning out head lights. What amp fuse are you running?

Hi, are you touching the glass with your fingers when you fit the bulb? If so, the natural oil from your skin will cause a hot spot on the glass and the bulb burns out fast. If you do touch it, wipe the glass with Methylated spirit to clean the oil/grease off then make sure you don't touch it again. If you're NOT touching the glass then I'm not sure.

Have a Sylvania halogen sealed beam, not a cartridge bulb. It fits just like stock. Thanks for the reply

A corroded or loose connection can cause a circuit to overheat, and blow a bulb if the fuse does not go first.

The bulb can't draw more current than it actually needs. The only other electrical problem that would 'burn it out' is if it is getting too much voltage. Is your generator/reg/rectifier giving the correct voltage (13-14v) when engine is running?
Are both filaments failing or just one (Dip or main)?
Is the filament actually burning out or is it failing due to vibration (Is the headlamp loose in its brackets?)
I hope this helps a bit.
