79 CB750 LTD 10th anniversary..problems HELP

so i just bought a 79 and it has been running great but the last few weeks when i go cruise it will start off good then usually when i stop or slow down at some point it will still idle fine but when i go to take off it just dies???also since this happend i went out the other day and when i went to start it i didnt even get a click from the starter..any ideas

Guessing something bad in charging system.  Ignition started breaking up under load, but was OK to idle.
