81 750K Float Bowl Screws

jbrightwell
Anyone have a source for the 12 float bowl screws?  I got all mine off of the bike but a few are narled up pretty good.
Also if anyone wants to look, I saw 2 CB750 Cafe style bikes for sale on the Cedar Rapids Iowa Craigs List.  They were posted yesterday (18th).  one was a 75 and the other 78.  Pictures looked pretty nice.
Thanks all - Have a great weekend!

Fastenal or any other fastener supply house similar? You could even get fancy and use stainless or allen heads.

I like the idea of the allen heads.  Just to be a little different.  They need to be stainless, right?

Want them to potentially be rusty next time you take them off? Lol.

Allen wrench would probably be good.
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Go with a 18-8 stainless. 316 stainless is not as shiny
Simple if some one else can, why can't I

float bowl screws, or float bowl drain screws?

For a list of every screw size you need to replace every external screw (and some internals) with allen socket ones check out the macgregor carb cleaning manual.

If you need float drain screws - you can get them here: http://www.siriusconinc.com/pro-detail.php?pid=&product_id=3325 as well as other sources.  Sirius is local to me, so shipping is actually free to me which is why I use them so much.  If you're in the states you can likely find things cheaper if you research.  Every source in the states seems to gouge me on shipping (I'm in Canada).

I checked local hardware stores and Lumber yards and such but could not find the right length.  What I found there MAY have worked but instead I went on ebay and found Minitrail69.com
I got a full set of new SS screws with washers for less than $15.  That may sound high but the SS screws at Ace Hardware that may have worked were $.84 each with no washers...

Oh and sees I was looking for float bowl screws.  I had the float bowls off once before when I first got the bike, and cleaned carbs, but most of the folks "in the know" on here said go back and clean them again!  Had a hard time getting some of the screws out again, even though they werent that tight, and since some of the heads were "buggered" I sprung for new ones.

18-8 stainless is the old numbers. It is actually 304 stainless.
The 316 is more corrosion resistant.

But remember screws that are stainless can still get slightly magnetic
from the manufacturing process. check with a magnet and get the ones that are the least magnetic.
