'81 CB750 Custom Front Turn Signals self grounded? New signals not :(

joeybeppy
Help! I am am doing a mild custom to my Custom and I unplugged my two-wire front turn signals and plugged in my new model turn signals at a new location.
When I tested the new lights they didn't work.  I got to thinking the old lights were probably 2 filament bulbs (running/blinking) and I remember everything had rubber mountings withing with odd internal ground wires.  After the fact I got to thinking maybe the stock turn signals were grounded at the mounting on the forks?
My new signals I'm not wanting running lights so is there a way to run a ground now?

Do the new lights have filiment globes or are they led? Led lights are polarity sensitive and will only work one way.
