81 CB750K Brake options

dave.r
Hey guys,

Just found the forum. I have a 81 CB750K I'm working on putting together. It has a single rotor upfront. I'm a taller guy and at 220 lbs. I wouldn't mind changing to something a little better.

The F and C both seem to have dual front rotors. My question is, If I get F or C forks, will it bolt into my clamps? And would I need a new front rim?

Or does anyone know of stopping power upgrades for the CB750K. All I can seem to find is SOHC stuff.

Sorry for the questions, but it is better to ask then buy useless forks.

Thanks!

Dave

The F, and C forks will go right into your triple trees, but the bad news is that your K hub will not accept the disc on the right, so you will need to change the wheel also.

That wouldn't be so horrible. I know the Cb750 custom had dual front rotors, so I'd assume that would work as well?

Was the K the economy version?

I would not call it an "economy" version, just the standard version.

I just saw a front tree/fork set up from a 81 cb900f pop up on craigslist. That should be a straight swap in correct? I know I'll need to source a wheel, but for a 100 bucks seems like a good deal.
