81 cb750c carbs

turbo2244
I have just a general question about my carbs. I have the carbs apart and the needle in there has what appears to be a flathead screw holding it in. I just wanted to check, does it screw out to gain access to the needle height adjustment or is there a special trick to get it out. Or is it non adjustable on my model of carbs?

I am not that familiar with the CV carbs, but there is a write-up on them in the repair tips and tricks section here. It should be pinned at the top. That might answer your question.

The main needle inside the slide piston? Yep, just pop that plug out and you will have access to the needle.  Be careful when you take it out as it may have some spacers on either side of the height adjusting clip that is on the needle. Stock needles don't have additional grooves for setting the needle height.

Yeah it was just held in with a flathead threaded piece but it was in there really tight. (Previous owners never cleaned the carbs from what I can tell) There werent any additional parts just needed to strongarm it to loosen it up after a wd40 loosening spray. Will probably end up putting a spacer in since Im rejetting and putting on a new filter and aftermarket exhaust. Thanks guys.

No problem, always happy to help when I can. No matter how easily you snug those plugs down they always end up crazy tight. Good luck on your project.
