You took the WRONG bike home. Especially if you want a cool cafe bike. The 900 Custom is going to be hard to cafe, and is not a very desirable bike. They can't give them away here in Kansas City.

The blue bike was the 900... motogrady brought home the 750.
I think for $400 you did good.

Oh man I would have snagged that 900 right up.  Can't find them, with all pieces, in N Cali for under 2000.  Maybe it's not a desirable bike but I think it's way cool.

900c I'm not too interested in, but I'm kind of torn between going for a 900F or a smaller honda twin as my next bike.

I have unfortunately given up on a SOHC 750 as they are as rare as hens teeth up here in Ontario, Canada.

Ya Tools, I took the 750.
That cafe thing is out there, I just don't feel this one is the one for me.
If the tank was all banged up, or painted candy apple red, maybe.
But, I dunno, it's so close to a look I think will work, I'm feeling I should go that way.

And yes Manuel, it's always a gamble, I mean, who knows whats in that gas tank.
You wanna play, you gotta pay.
I just always look for the low hours thing, that means a lot to me.
I love them when the rear fender is wrecked off and the bars are all twisted up,
but the brake pedal has no wear on it.
I just got a feeling this guy just gave up on an almost new bike,
I believe the story Tom told me.
The damage fits the tale, the parts are there as if someone was gonna fix it.

Plus, I knda know that motor and the electrics.

It's good to hear from the west coast, makes me 2nd guess the 900,
and 4 guys have told me the 350 is the one I shoulda went with.

But no, for me, the 750 was the deal.

Works busy this week, thanks for the input guys, pics when something happens.  later my friends.
