NO- that is the wrong needle it has no adjustments.
You want the needle that has 5 grooves in it . That way you can adjust the clip
into one of the 5 grooves.

yes the needle i bought has the five groves that you adjust by moving the clip i had it in the middle slot with the 42slow and the 120main had the air filters on sync the carbs to almost perfect  and had the air screw out 1 turn on all and it running rich do i need to change the setting on the needle or what

At 800-900 RPM you are running on the pilot jet. The bike should idle at 1100 +/- 100. You could try moving the clip up one notch, and try it, but I am thinking the pilot jets are the problem. They might have been drilled out by a PO before you got it.

800-900 rpm is a pretty low idle. More idle speed (I like about 1200 rpm) supplies much better oil pressure to the engine while idling. It also helps the clutch to disengage better. I dont really know why,but it does.

If you have a stock intake set up and only the exhaust has changed ,then the slide needle should be in the stock position which is the first groove down from the top. Not the third groove down from the top.

Do you have the stock air filter?
Do you have stock exhausts or aftermarket exhausts?

tools1 i bought the jet new off ebay some place out of  a place called S.C.I is there anyway to check and make sure they have not been tinkered with
