Ok just bought an 81 cb750 custom knew when i bought it it would need a tune up. Instead of putting it on a trailer and taking it home i rode it. Before i got on the road i did fill it up with preminum gas thinking it would help clean out the carbs. It ran just fine but the choke was on about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way. It must have closed itself riding it home becasue when i came to a stop if the choke wasn't on it stalled. I rode it about 2hrs like this. ( I really didn't have to stop but a few times). So question 1. would i be better off just getting the carbs cleaned or rebuilt? 2. I didn't notice but the tach and speedo didn't work either. I pulled the tach cable off and started the bike an watched the little pin and it didn't move at all. I am going to pull the cable off the front wheel and hook it to my drill to check that one. Could the gauges have gone bad? and the last question as of now. When idling i noticed a small almost like grinding noise fromthe trans. When i pull in the clutch it goes away. would this be like a throw out bearing or what. It shifts just fine though. Any answers to these would greatly help me out. Its my first honda and I've heard so many great thing about them. Thanks Bryan
Oh and Where is the oil filter on this. I was looking and cant seem to find it or if any one has the service manual they would like to sell cheap i will buy it and that way i won't have to ask so many (maybe Stupid questions)
