And yet another question

Seacat
Today I picked up a handheld Tach. (Induction lead type automotive. It has settings for 3,4,6 and 8 cylinder engines.) I hooked it to the #1 wire and found the bike was idling at 500RPM.

Using this type of Tach. would this be accurate or should I be multiplying the readout by two because the coil is sending out the same signal to both cylinders in the circuit?

I think I'd have to say, yes.  Motor is a 2-cyl ignition wise.
