Anyone ever take apart an ignition switch? ('78)

While inspecting the last few parts before reassembling my bike, I noticed the key would not turn to the LOCK position on the ignition switch.  I struck the pin on the side of the lock that is supposed to extend when the key is turned just to make sure it wasn't siezed.  The pin moves 1 or 2 mm when I push down on the key and turn, but even with pliers on the rod that extends out the bottom of the cylinder, it won't go into the LOCK position (yes, I know to push in and turn).  Has anyone ever taken one of these apart?  If not, I'll do so and post some pics here.

Never took one apart, but got a frozen one to work.

Get some door lock or ignition switch deicer/lube, or just take some wd-40,
squirt it in the lock a few times and just work it, gently but firmly.

Might do the trick.......

Thanks for the tip.  I tried filling the  cylinder with wd-40 and letting it soak for a while but unfortunately it didn't change anything.  Looks like I'll be opening this sucker up.

Thanks for that site! I'll definitely bookmark it and get a new ignition switch if I can't repair this one.
