Automatic fuel valve 1980 750kz

Hi....I WONDER IS IT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE AUTOMATIC FUEL VALVE?..If i remove this will i have to turn off my fuel tank supply each time i stop the bike?  can this removal cause me flooding problem?

There are a few threads here about the Spawn of Satan (SOS) as these things are affectionately known. A lot of of them are bypassed or replaced with manual petcocks.

Yes, if you do this, you should turn off the fuel valve when you leave the bike for any period of time to avoid overflow or flooding if a needle valve happens to stick.

I never shut off a fuel valve unless I am working on the fuel system.

I only ran into this issue when my bike sat for about a week or so, long enough (I presume) for the float bowls to empty out.  After I got it going again, it usually started pretty quickly the next day.

But I agree: if you don't have a good enough battery, it's possible to run it down long enough with the cranking that you compromise the ignition portion. If you can get it to stumble a bit, then you're probably OK.
