Duplicolor's Semi-gloss black high heat engine enamel works really well for me. It still dies instantly upon contact with gasoline, like all aerosol paint, but it's the ONLY spray paint I've used that will actually harden, or ''shell up'' , and seem to do OK. Only the semi-gloss, and only the black. Everything else just feels gummy. Just my $0.02.

Carry on....

I always use Rust-o-lium acrylic enamel, and I have never had a problem with gas damaging it, or being gummy. When I use to build custom cars, I always used Ditzler Acrylic enamel to paint the engines.

Yeah, me either. But honestly this is the deepest into a bike motor I have ever been so... Haha...
Figure a good photo rundown of the whole tear down and rebuild will be helpful. One, for me so I can go back and go "oh yeah, that's where that part went and two, so others can see what's what inside.

I have the whole thing stripped down now. Just scraping the old gaskets off then I'm bringing it to the car wash to hit it with the pressure washer and degreaser. I'll snap some shots of the before and after on that too.
