Burning oil. Maybe.

heath1066
After the carb rebuild, I seem to be burnin oil. Maybe. It doesn't quite smell like it, it's pretty white.  But , I can't figure out where I would be getting any moisture in the pipes or combustion chamber, plus more is produced as the engine heats up.  In traffic the other night it was super noticeable. Anyone have the insight that I don't?

White smoke does indicate oil burning. Have you run a compression test?

The compression tester that harbor freight sells reads accurate. At least mine does. I think it was $25. No need to spend a lot of money on an expensive one.

Where are you seeing the white smoke come from? Tail pipe? Or maybe you just left a breather hose of ? Even a tight engine will produce a little oil vapor from the breather ports.
