CB750 something

Amnethyst
Just bought this from guy moving out of town, so got it at a bargain. Problem is it threw the upper cam tensioner and skipped a few teeth. Luckily no valve damage, just the complete tensioner needs to be replaced. The problem I am having is what CB750 is this exactly. Nowhere on the body or the license or the paperworks does it state anything but that it is a 750. Any help would be much appreciated.

It looks as though it could be a 1980 super sport with some modification. Do you have the serial number?

Everything has either been removed or painted over. No markings, only one I could find is the one on the front fork. RCO1 2300395. Engine number RCO4E-2123874. Running 4 Keihin VB Carbs.

Slight change of plan.  I now think it's either a 1979 Special Edition with the original wheels or a 1980 750K with non standard wheels.  Serial numbers for both started RC01

Well, on my 78K, the model was stamped into the neck. I question the legality of that frame though. You are not really supposed to remove the vin tag or paint over it. If it is still there, scrape the paint off of it, since you should anyways.

That bike's not in America. Maybe things are done differently where it is? I do know it is a European model.
