CB750F brakes

turborat
Hi all,

My first post here.  I just picked up this bike.  My first old bike in a long time.

What should I expect from the brakes?  It stops about as good as an F250 truck.  The front brakes feel like I'm trying to stop a power brake car with the engine off.  Even at very low speed, I cant lock the front wheel, but I do get a fair amount of suspension deflection.  I have newer bikes and I don't expect this one to stop as well, but this bike requires some real thought as to stopping distance. Should I spend the effort rebuilding the system, upgrade to new parts or just accept it?

I did a search and perhaps I missed the mark, but I did not find an exact answer to my question.  I am sure this has been addressed before, but would appreciate your sage advice.

Nice looking supersport, I have a 77 model and I have had some of the same issuses as well. It seems my real braking power comes from the rear brakes. I did rebuild the entire front and back system and I think it is a little better???

I am looking for 1978 750four side cover emblems

Best Regards
