CX500 deluxe tank on 1974 CB750

Howdy,

I picked up a 1980 CX500 tank for my 1974 CB750. I know it won’t be a simple swap, I’ll have to reconfigure the mount onto the front of the frame, but it has a single port petcock. How would you guys go about getting it to feed carbs that had two ports to feed?
Also, what do you guys use to clean surface rust in a tank?

I would just use "T" fitting in the fuel line. The plastic ones from the autoparts work just fine. As for removing surface rust, you can use vinegar, muriatic acid,  or phosphoric acid.

Big fan of the vinegar trick. Always works for me, plus it's cheap and nontoxic. Just be sure to rinse with baking soda and hot water afterwards to neutralize the vinegar so it doesn't continue to eat.

A t fitting on the end of the petcock ? Or petcock to small fuel line to T fitting and then fuel lines to carbs?
Will my carbs get enough fuel with this?

Petcock to small fuel line to T fitting and then fuel lines to carbs. And yes they will get enough fuel.
