Carb Spring Help

birdmannn101
When I got these carbs I noticed the spring on the choke tube was sprung and none of the choke plates worked right.  I have tried to put the spring back but have not succeeded because I don't know how it goes back on.  The service manual says "NOTE:  turn shaft one revolution before connecting" but that doesn't help get it together.  Any help is appreciated ... Dan

I've got a couple pics of the springs.  Not sure if I got them from Mike Nixons book or from Sean rebuild guide, but here they are.

Was trying not to use up too much bandwidth.  Here are some larger pics.

Thanks for the pictures Beekeeper ... I can't enlarge them enough to see the spring.  I do appreciate it though.

I put them back in larger.  Give another look.  These pics were for the VB42A carb I believe.  Not sure they are exactly the same for the carbs on SOHC pre 79 motors.

Thanks Beekeeper, those pictures are better.  I found the fix to my problem in your 2nd picture.  It is always annoying trying to put something back together when someone else took it apart in the first place.
