Cb 750K5

Hello guys, I have a 75 K5 which has chain ratteling on low rpm, is it the transmission chain or cam chain, do I need to replace them? I also have one exhaust pipe which remains cold after a short run, maybe thats a sign for a non runnig cyl?

You are probably right about the one cold pipe being a non-firing cylinder. These bikes made strange noises if they are out of tune. I would imagine that once you fix the non-firing cylinder, that the chain noise will go away.It throws the motor out of balance basically when one cylinder is out.

My #3 was cold and it wasn't getting gas,the float was put in upside down,
but ran and sounded fine sure cam chain noise but carbs weren't synced .
Paul just happen to touch(check ) and was a cold 1,he knows most all engines well.

I second Shiney. When these bikes are out of tune, and needing the carbs synced they sound like the cam chain is eating it's way out of the engine.
