Anything I should know or any tips?  Do you need a special tool or anything?

Depends on your chain. If you go with a 630 roller style from someone like DID, then no. If you get an oring chain, their links can sometimes be very hard to connect. You would want a chain press. You can get simple toolbox sized ones for $15 or so. It is a very simple motion pro one.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
