Charging issue

Truck
OK, I'm at my witts end here. My bike has had a charging issue since I bought it last year. Since then I've gotten a new gel battery, New stator and just installed a new regulator. Still only getting 12.72+/- volts. Any ideas from the masters???
It's only illegal if you get caught.

If at first you don't succeed, use more lighter fluid

Just out of curiosity the selinoid that the pos lead comes off of looks kinda worn and the wires don't look so hot. I'm guessing that this could be an issue???

Do you mean the starter solenoid? If so, that is only in the circuit for starting. But, I would check every single connection. I think connections go bad more than the actual components. Many times the connectors will look good but once you plug them in, they don't make good connection. If the components check ok, I would look there. I would also check continuity of each wire. Wires need to be whole of course but they do sometimes corrode and break under the insulation.

13.94 volts across the terminals, that'll do pig, that'll do.

Re: Charging issue

Turns out the new rectifier did the trick. I think i had run the battery down to low messing with it. I've rode the bike to and from work and on errands for the last few days and have 13 + volts above 2000 rpm.  Now on to the new susension!

Re: Charging issue

This is a common problem with 750, stator burning or leaking. What we do is to hook up a battery tender every time the bike is not being use. It can help the battery to remain full so that the stator doesn't need to work harder in charging the unit. By the way we use Battery tender Jr. Bought it from 4wheelonline for $31 it can also be hooked with your car or truck.

Re: Charging issue

I use my bike everyday so tending is not really an issue. I did make sure my charger worked as a tender so I can have it hooked up in the winter.
