Clutch Cable on CB750

jam718
Just wondering if anyone has any other links besides this one (www.salocal.com/sohc/tech/clutch/cth1.htm) that shows how to change a clutch cable on a 1977 CB750F Supersport.....

Thanks in advance,

John

There isnt too much to it. Just leave the old cable on and route the new one beside it. Once you have the path, secure the cable to the frame so it does not touch the engine. If it touches, the sheath will melt and water can get in and rust the cable.
Now loosen everything up and remove the old cable and hook up the new one.
From there, look at page 1 and 7 and it gives really good instructions on setting things. You shouldn't go wrong.

old thread ... let see if its still alive.

Do you have to drain the oil or it is dry within that cover to just replace the cable?  I just changed my oil and am wondering if I will have to do it again or if i can just sit down and do a quick swap

Nope, no oil under the clutch cover. Clean and dry replacement, no rag needed.
