Cold starts

barnfind
Just a question. I built a 1969 cb750 into a cafe racer, the problem I'm having is when I first start the bike after it sits over night or so I have to sit on the bike with choke on and feather the throttle until it warms up after a few minute sometime I get popping out of the carbs or exhaust but not to serious. I've rebuilt the carbs, sync and and adjust the timing still using the old point system. I'm running the original carbs individual carb setting not rail. Is there anything that can be done or am I worrying for nothing because once the bike is warmed up after about 5-10 minutes she purrs like a kitting at about or just over 1000 rpm's.

Thanks

These bikes are cold blooded, so I would not be worried, but you could install larger pilot jets. This would help a lot with cold starting.

Didn't think it was a big deal but I might try a larger pilot jet.
Thanks

Any Honda dealer should be able to get them for you.
