Drive Sprocket Removal

vulcanmediator
Greetings;
I'm new around here.  I picked up a 1979 CB750 Limited Edition when a neighbour had a tennant who had to move out and did not want to move the 500 lbs of metal and plastic he had left sitting in the back yard for the past 4 years where rain, snow, sun, snow and a few families of mice had done damage to it.
At this point in time, I am just stripping it down to see what the condition is of the various components. The bad news is that the engine is seized rather badly: taking the carb off and the spark plugs out showed evidence of this, as a buddy described the contents as "aluminum returning to its natural bauxite state..".
anyhow, the purpose of my question deals with the removal of the drive sprocket.  Is the holding nut a reverse thread?  I found a honda manual that talks about removing the drive sprocket and chain, but makes no mention of the nature of the thread.  Just thought I would check it out before putting the breaker bar to it.
thanks for your anticipated replies and any related comments suggestions you might have.
I hope to get the engine and transmission off the bike before the weather gets really cold and the snow flies.  It was suggested that I take it to my auto mechanic and get him to let it soak in a varsol bath for a few hours to get it all cleaned up prior to working on it.

Right hand threads my good man . Just put the juice to it . -- Recommend against the varsol bath due to possible rubber parts that would not take kindly to this . -- Just tear it down and then do your cleanup work . -- From the sound of it , you have your work cut out for you , but the end result will be worth it . -- While you have it apart , a set of 900 cams is a direct bolt in replacement and really wakes these 750s up . -- Otto

Tell me more about this..Same everything. Just change out the cams?
Do you have any cam specs for the 750 and 900 cams?

Got the specs at home , but it's all available on the DOHC site . Search in Technical help 3 or 4 pages back . Gene has some links in there that have alot of info.
