Drum or Disc?

Grussell
I have a 1980 CB750K and I am thinking about swapping out the rear drum brake for a disk brake set up off of an F bike.  Question one is; The rear disk system seems like it would be better to me, is it?  Question two; Do I have to buy a new rear swing arm?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

I just wen out to look at my 750F which has disc brakes and i would say if the swing arm is wide enough
for the caliper mounting bracket you should be OK.
Best would be to find some one that has done the mod.

Thanks Karl,

Has that rear disk ever given you any trouble?

Greg, none what soever. It requires regular maintenance like anything else.
What I would do in your case, find or borrow a rear wheel with a disc and put it temporarily, axle and all
into the swing arm and evaluate it.

Thanks Karl,

The fact that your rear disk brake hasn't been a problem is good to hear.  I think I'll head to the bone yard this weekend and see if I can't find a good wheel and set it up like you recommended.  Thanks again for the help.

Cheers,
Greg
