Engine Paint

I just purchased some Duplicolor Engine enamel it can withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees, should i use this to paint the engine or use the Duplicolor High Heat Paint that can withstand temperatures up to 1200 degrees? Thanks.

not knowing where you folks are from or are but "PJ1"  has paint that comes close to the
original color of the cases(silver)   ---------BUT -------over the yaers 1-2 if you don't put
a clear coat over it they get a yellowish shade to it --- does the duplicolor paint do the same
or  does it handle the heat on the cases better
i am building another 750f for the wife (ha-ha ) but opted for glossy black for this one
would love the insight

For most of the engine, I would think the 500 degree paint would be fine. On the jugs though, the higher, the better.
There is a paint called vht Very High Temp and it is supposed to work well but I am not sure how easy it is to find.

I just saw a 1952 Vincent Black Shadow in a local museum, it is fantastic and the black engine on that thing was one of the best I have ever seen. This particular beauty has never been ridden, it was purchased off of the assembly line, here is one pick I took, I second the black engine paint!
