I just checked with Jardine, looks like nothing for the early sohc from Jardine, only listing for 1979-1980's. I see others listed, however, I want the lower pipe to go below the rear foot peg straight out, not upward and shinny chrome units. I'm not into cafe. I looked for months and drove all over Florida to find a early sohc that was not all butchered. I must have peeped 10/15 bikes a few had broken engine fins, two had serial numbers ground off.
My 7T4 still has the exhaust flanges/spigots and my 7T5 750F has the half shells and studs, both different install to the head. Again want the exhaust going straight out back. Anyone? Mac, Vance Hines, Kerker. I just got my Green 74K running the other day after 31 years, this is the bike I was looking to install a 78 sohc engine I purchased a while back on CL and wanted to use, however after talking here with you guys, too much to change around. I thought it would be a bolt and go, nope, swing arm , rear hub, axle from 77/78 and wiring ect, so back to CL. I purchased a 72K with no paper with a good running motor, got everything installed, repaired some minor wiring everything working good. I put almost 200 miles on it last week the bike never burped once. Also question, what's a good sale price for a good (clean) 1978 sohc engine worth? Only minus carburetors otherwise complete. I may list it on CL soon.
