Flasher connection

eelpout
Just bought a 81 750 Custom.  Had no TSR  so picked one up. Question is does it make a difference which wire goes to which connection on the flasher?  Wiring diagram does not differentiate. One wire is green the other is green with white stripe or white with green stripe can't quite remember.  Thanks

Well, I can't say I know for sure, but when I got a different flasher for my sohc, I just guessed. I don't think anything will burn out if wired wrong, maybe a fuse. It probably just won't do anything. We should have a wiring diagram to check against
Yeah, it doesn't specify. So I think the worst would just be nothing happens.

Standing here by my bike now. Two prongs. White wire with green stripe goes to the "L" terminal, gray wire goes to the "X" terminal.

Thanks much for the info. Seems kind of weird though because the wiring diagram I looked at clearly show the gray wire not connected to anything which, in itself, is strange to me. I'll give your hookup a try and see what happens. Thanks again  Larry

It's usually the Green wire that doesn't connect to anything. I believe that's for a German market application. Of course, I may be wrong....
