Tools, did you mean silicone
lubricant, or Room Temperature Vulcanising silicone (
silicone rubber sealant)? I could see using both, but they would behave very differently.
gkmaia: Fork Oil, used by many M/C makers, is a highly refined, highly stabilized mineral oil, unless you use a synthetic Fork Oil. None of them, including ATF (also highly refined, highly stabilized), are corrosive -- they are all petroleum oil products, anti-corrosive. Cheers!
