jamman18
Wondering if any other electronic wizards would like to chime in on this one.........I'd be interested to see what the consensus is

So will the rear falshers work without having front ones?

1530 posts They might but I am not sure. It depends on the electrical load but they still might not flash without front lights. "

I pretty much agree with Re-run on this. You could always try it. How about using a set of mirrors with turn signals made into them?

Good idea!  Do you have any sources where to find them?

Around 1/3 down the page.

Emgo makes a few models of mirrors with turn signals built into them.  Check with your local shops to see if they can order them for you -- on distributors can get Emgo products directly.  Try downloading their product catalogs to find the part you want, then take the P/N into your dealer/shop, and have them quote you a price.

Good news!  I got rear turn signals from cb750supply.com and also the front LED on the mirrors. Got the rear hooked up and they work great, including the annoying buzzer!  Just glad to have signals.  Had to do a bit of adapting for the mounts as they are smaller diameter than the signals. I made a sleeve which fits but is a bit loose.  Have tape to hold for now but I need ideas on something more permanant like a screw to go through sleeve and hit the mount? The front ones I still need to mount and am going to splice some xtra line from them to the rear wiring where I know the correct wires are; the front is a mess behind the light!

COOL. Glad to hear, you now have them. Now if, you can find a way to get drivers to pay attention to them. On the front ones, just find the orange (left turn), and light blue (right turn) wires in the headlight. You will also need to hook the other two wires from the new signals into the green (ground) wire.

Amazing what a little dab of epoxy will do!  Problem solved and I can still remove the lights if needed!

Re: Front and rear flashers

Well, the rear flashers work great, even with the annoying buzzer!  Tried hooking up the front LED signals on the mirrors but they blew the lighting fuse!  Tried splicing them into the wiring at the rear signals....wondering if it would make a difference splicing in behind the headlight or if the LEDs are too much for the circuit?

Splicing in at the rear will not do anything, but create more wire, for the electricity to travel through. It sounds like the wires might be crossed. The mirrors might have both a wire, for ground, and an internal ground.

I took the left to orange and the right to blue.  I think you may be right about too much wire.....guess I'll have to find the front turn wires behind the headlight in the rats nest of wiring, huh?

Yeah, the mirrors just have 1 power wire as the mirrors ground to the handlebars
