Gas tanks

joekool4
Hey,
I'm new to the forum and thinking about getting an 81 750C. right now it has a Sporty Peanut tank and solo seat, claimed to be a bobber. I dont mind the solo seat but the tank still has stock harley paint with decals, i dont really have that big of a budget and the bike wil take most of it. I would like to have an era correct tank (dont care if its honda, kawi skuzi or yammy) i have found quite a few 81 goldwing tanks for pretty cheap in good shape, will it fit with minimal modifications(just had to sell my 75 yamaha rd because I no longer have the time, space or tools to finish the job).

I do not know about the tanks on the DOHC bikes, but I would suggest a rattle can of flat black paint.

That was my first thought, but then I think that the sporty tank looks way to small on top of the DOHC. and I know doesnt hold that much gas either, pretty sure its less than half of the stock honda one.

If you're any good at metal work and paint, I have a slightly beat up 1981 CB750 gas tank.  I got it off of EBay when I bid on a petcock, and the guy didn't tell me that it came with a gas tank.  I guess that explains the $20 in shipping costs for a petcock. :-)

Anyhow, if you're interested, drop me a private message, and we can discuss it.  If not, no hurt feelings.

I would definately be interested if i end up getting it. like i said right now its a half a$$ed bobber so I would either continue on that route or change it into a cafe racer look.
