This bike belongs to a cousin of a friends neighbor.
He claims it just bogged down, and died while going down the road. Funny thing is, it only had about a quart of oil in it, and the owner swears it had oil in it.
It took the head, #3 piston, and rod, both cams, and possibly the crank. The really bad part is this is a pretty rare, and desirable bike. It's an 85 Suzuki GS 1150 E. They only made them two years 85-86. Most have been destroyed by drag racers.
Because they were over 100 hp at the rear wheel stock, and have roller bearing crankshafts. It is going to cost around $2,000 to rebuild this engine. I have found him a new crank, 1230cc Wisco pistons with a cylinder bored to fit, aftermarket camshafts, and there is a head on ebay with 4,000 miles, for $400. Still need rings, and a gasket set.....
The guy really wants to rebuild it. However he says it will not be his daily rider any more.
