Well as much as i HATE to type this message, i gotta let you know that I installed the carbs, hooked up the SOS, connected the fuel line to the tank, put the key in the ignition, fired it up, and VROOOOM!!! She's up and running. I walk around the bike a time or two and when i get back to the left side, there's a pretty steady DAMN DRIP coming from the float bowl of carb #1. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!

(sigh) Back to the drawing board, dammit!!! lol

Check the float, prob just stuck. Blast it with a little cleaner make sure its moving freely. you don't even need to take it off the bike.
It's only illegal if you get caught.

If at first you don't succeed, use more lighter fluid

I took the float bowl off, made sure everything was working and installed properly, and then made sure I put the seal/gasket back on and flush with the lid for the bowl.  All seems to be working fine now with no gas leak.

HOWEVER...(sigh)...when I went to start the bike I pulled the choke out.  Once the bike fired up, I tried to push the choke knob back in but it won't budge.  Any idea what the problem could be with that and how I an fix it???

Check to make sure it isnt kinked or bound up anywhere. had the same problem when installing mine, just had to work with it and reroute it a few times to get it right. Also try working it off the bike to make sure there isn't a problem with the cable itsself. might need some lubercation or replacement if it's an older cable.

Thanks for the info and great pictures!  I was stuck on that same spring.  Now I've just got to get to the store to replace the butterfly screws since I neglected to plan ahead.   This site has been a huge help to an amateur such as myself!!  Thank you!
