Happy New Year!

cdaiscool
Screw resolutions. What are your goals for your bike for this upcoming year?

I will start:

I am hoping to get the bike running right, once and for all. I want to get the bike with no wiring issues.

You're up next!
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Fuelly

Shiny: [...] Considering the weather you've had to put up with I'd say you get an Iron Butt award and a Frozen Nipple trophy to go along with it. First time I've ever posted the word nipple... it ends here.

You're not nearly the first to guess that. Nope!

It was from when I was in 7th grade. Needed a nickname for my first email address. I had just started a club with a friend and his cousin. Me (Craig), him (Dick), and his cousin (Andrew). And the club was cool!

Hence, CDA is cool!

I've been meaning to ask, is the "cdaiscool" Coeur d'Alene??

Mine wasn't iron butt. You sure no snow? And Indianapolis is whiter in the winter...

I can confirm that tomorrow if you would like ;-)

Re: Happy New Year!

Hoosier Daddy
Finish this CB before spring, then start working on my BSA.
I would like to trade off one or two of my bikes then get something newer that I can take the Wifey on longer trips on and not have to worry about. We putt around the local area, but don't want to venture too far from home on a 30+ year old bike.
There is this "new" 2010 Sabre in black still sitting on the local Dealership floor that I have been drooling over since it showed up factory fresh. It's going to have it's 3rd birthday with less than 8 miles on the odo and already listed for 2 grand less than the original MSRP, I told them Friday to drop it another thousand for this coming year, throw in a low backrest and some bags, and I could probably swing it.

81 Honda CB750C - Current Project
67 BSA Spitfire MkIII - Next Up (Full Resto)
81 Honda GL1100 - Bob / Cafe´
80 Suzuki GS750L - Bratstyle
72 Honda CB450K5 - Basket Case
73 Honda CB350F Cafe' (Gone but not forgotten)

Don't wait for opportunity to knock... kick the door down and drag the old harlot in!

Well, it was Iron Buttish  I'll be travelling a lot slower with longer stops along the way, until the home ride.

I'll be traveling June-August, so no thanks . . . although I'll admit to seeing snow in Calgary in July. And I'll be going htorugh the mountains . . .

but then again, I'll pass.

I can confirm that tomorrow if you would like ;-)
I hope you make it through!

I hope to get the rest of the things on the CB finished up........ so I can ride it worry free while I fix up a wing like Hooter Daddy has.   Been a couple months since I saw it online, but she's still calling my name!

My goal: Build less, ride more. Hope to have HJ done at least by early summer if not spring. Then I'll lay down the wrenches and pick up the helmet.

Well, since this is the first bike I've had since riding in the late Sixties I'd better get my motorcycle license first.  I don't know about your states but Texas makes everyone take a 3 day riding safety course with most of the course demonstrating safety on a bike course (which weeds out people who don't belong on bikes anyway) and probably saves a lot of lives which is a great idea.
I'll probably have the bike in good shape before I do that which should be before summer.

This year, I intend to re-shape and re-cover the seat on my bike, and/or move to a bobber style with the chrome springs.  Might lose the home-made luggage rack and move to hard or soft bags. Maybe some different handlebars to swap out the rams horn style that's on there now.

It's always a balance between style, utility, and function.  Thank heaven the bike itself runs well.
