Help

G moreau
Hello everybody I am new here. I have very basic knowledge with carburetors and I would like to know what jet kits sould I buy ? Do all jets fit on all carbs?

I just bought a honda cm450E and with the pods and my custom made exhaust I was told that I should rejet my carbs. I am pretty sure the original carbs are insralled on my bike .

Ps:English is not my first language please be comprehensive 😊

Thanks

Welcome. Not all jets fit all carbs. I buy my jets from my local Honda dealer. There is also Sudco and jets r us. However I hate to rain on your parade here, but your bike has the CV carbs. You will never get them to work correctly with pod filters. Good luck.

Oh well... should I consider getting new carbs or try to reduce the air flow with a washer or electrical tape on the pods to simulate the original intake ?

There is nothing cooler than a Hipster trying to keep a bike running with tape hanging off pod air filters. I actually watched this show a few weeks ago at a restaurant. Hipster was working the throttle hard to keep the bike running and get going. I myself would rather not be so cool and have a properly running bike. I would put the airbox back on. However, if you have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and time to work on jetting you could get a set of Mikuni VM28s and get it run about as good as the stock carbs and airbox.
