Highway / crash bars

Pastorscrooge
Hey fellas, first-time poster and new member.  I don't do this much so.please bear with me.  I recently bought a project bike - 1980 CB750K.  Pretty high miles (36,000 some-odd) and its been rode hard and put up wet, if you take my meaning.  Good price and the wife-unit wanted it pretty bad.

Okay, here's the thing: I've been replacing parts (most of them are hard to locate, as you might expect) but this morning I stumbled across a set of highway bars for a '78 CB750.  Will these bolt up to my '80 model, even though they are a year older than the "family"?  Thanks in advance for everybody's input, and God bless.

DOHC started in 79, I believe the frames are different.
It's only illegal if you get caught.

If at first you don't succeed, use more lighter fluid

A lot of the highway bars are universal fit, so they might work. If I seen a picture of of them I could tell if they are.

Those mount to the motor mount bolts, so they probably will not fit the DOHC frame. The engine mounts are the same between the bikes, but the frames are different around them.

Yeah, it figgers...story of my life.  I did manage to locate a listing for anset off a '79 and the rear brackets did appear different.  Oh well, it was just a lark.  A sissy bar is much more important right now.  Tough to locate those, too...Anyway, thanks for the expert advice.  Bee seeing you around the Forum!
