Honda 77 cb 750a Choke cable riddle

zonson
Not to long ago I cleaned my carbs, we rebuilt them with a kit becuase I wasnt getting any gas or go when I turned the throttle.

Now, the bike under revs and cuts off with choke all the way out and it will over rev in neut. after bike heats up. The riddle is that  when I first go to warm up the bike with the throttle cable pulled up the bike revs down instead of up. When I push it in, it revs up instead of down. It takes about 2 minutes or so to warm the bike up this way but Im not sure its safe for the engine.

I can post a div. if need be if what I am saying makes no sense. Thank you in advanced

You have a vacuum leak. Did you change the cracked rubber boots that you mentioned in your other thread? The bike will never run right with cracked rubber boots between the carbs, and head.

Well I rigged them the best I could, I was going to try some copper tape next, Guess that answers my problem though. Dang TOOLS1 form where is your knowledge. Thank you so much.

Question though, Since they do not make those boots anymore, And i bought some tubbing to try to do it myself, no luck, to small a gap to twist any tubbing with a good grade.

What should I do? I know upping the carb to an 88 was a suggestion but Im no money man, just a student with fin. aide.

Sorry, didn't notice that you have a '77. If the '79 insulators won't fit, give a try making your own.

You guys can't get new boots

Wow, that sucks. Surprised nobody has started to make aftermarket ones.

Ok so thats what I am seeing that I might have to get. Though I am not ot sure what to do with them lol. Meaning, which bend do I get? I ve bought some hose like this (blue) before but it wouldnt bend enough to reach from the engine to the Carb. Has any one used this stuff before?

You can use silicone rubber boots from car turbo websites.
They work even better than the stock boots.

You can even get colors.

Ok so these silicone hoses ppl keep saying to get. But please answer: How do I know what to buy? Do i buy a 45 degree angle one and that works? Or would I be doing some shaving. Just a heads up, Im merely novice in this task.
